Some facts

• About 80 % of all activities in an engineering department relate to equal or quasi-equal previous made constructions (study by Arthur D. Little).

• Up to about 15 % of all designing time is dedicated to the search for information whereof one knows it exists, but that cannot be found because it has not been structured in a logical way. CIMData thinks this time requires 60 % or more.

• Trend towards teamwork instead of ‘stand alone’. This can only be successful when all information is unambiguous and directly accessible to all team members.

Therefore it is important that you manage all engineering and other related information in a safe and orderly way.

PDM: the SAVACO experience
