Microsoft Power BI is a powerful Business Intelligence tool that helps you turn your business data into clear insights. Whether you want to analyse figures from Excel, ERP systems, cloud applications or other data sources, Power BI brings them together in one clear dashboard. Thanks to built-in AI functionalities, interactive visualisations and integration with Microsoft 365, Power BI helps you make better decisions faster. From real-time reporting to self-service BI, Power BI makes data accessible and usable for everyone in your organisation, regardless of department, role or technical knowledge.

On the one hand, Savaco works with us to see how we can realise these challenging visualisations and reports with Power BI. On the other hand, they also help us with governance for self-service BI. We want to give our employees the freedom to build simple additional reports themselves, but at the same time we want to keep track of what reports are being built and how they are being created.

Frequently asked questions about Microsoft Power BI

What is the difference between Microsoft Fabric and Power BI?

Power BI is a tool for data visualisation and reporting. Microsoft Fabric is a broader data analysis platform of which Power BI is one component, alongside tools for data integration, engineering and governance. Fabric therefore offers an end-to-end solution, while Power BI focuses on insights and visualisations.

How does Power BI integrate with other Microsoft tools?

Power BI works seamlessly with tools such as Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. You can embed reports, share data, and view insights directly in the apps you use every day.

What do I need to get started with Power BI in my organisation?

All you need is a Power BI licence and access to your data sources (such as Excel, ERP or cloud apps). A basic knowledge of Excel is sufficient to get started.

Can I use Power BI without a full Microsoft environment?

Yes, you can. Power BI also works with data from non-Microsoft sources such as Google Analytics, Salesforce or CSV files. For maximum integration, a Microsoft 365 environment is a plus.

In Power BI, we found a suitable tool to visualise our data in a clear manner. Together with Savaco, we drew up two reports that allow us to see at a glance how things are going.
